• Introduction

Grade 5 is regarded for many reasons as the best year of primary school life! The pressure of Grade 4 (the first year in the senior phase) has worn off and the work load of Grades 6 & 7 is yet to come. The work on the whole is enjoyable and hopefully FUN.

• Staff

The Grade 5 staff members are Mrs du Preez, Mrs Swart and Mrs Beverley Passetti. Every teacher is a class teacher, responsible for the teaching of Religious Education and Life Orientation to her own class, but each teacher also has her own "specialities": Mrs Beverley Passetti is responsible for all the Grade 5 Afrikaans and Natural Science teaching, Mrs du Preez is responsible for all the English and Social Science teaching, and Mrs Swart is our Maths and EMS expert.

• Outings

Many outings are planned for the year, including an outing to the Sammy Marx Museum, the Pretoria Zoo and a most enjoyable and educational 3-day tour which includes visits to Predator World, a cheese factory and/or strawberry farm and a day spent at the Valley of the Waves at Sun City.
